The Canton Foundation has officially approved a substantial funding grant of nearly 15.8 million Canton Coin tokens, valued at approximately $1.55 million at the time of writing, to support the development of RedStone’s open-source pricing tool tailored specifically for institutional finance.

The native CC token, which was last trading at roughly $0.0979, currently commands a robust market capitalization of $3.91 billion according to comprehensive data provided by Coingecko. Market activity for the digital asset remains active, registering $23.23 million in trading volume over the preceding 24-hour window. This financial backing from the Canton Foundation underscores a strategic push to enhance institutional infrastructure on the network by resolving long-standing challenges related to asset valuation, market privacy, and data licensing.

At the core of this new initiative is the Canton Access and Privacy Standard, commonly referred to as CAPS. According to an official announcement shared with Cointelegraph, the framework is meticulously designed to allow financial institutions to utilize a shared market price to accurately value complex transactions without revealing their privately negotiated settlement amounts to third-party data providers or unauthorized observers. This delicate balance between transparency in market valuation and strict confidentiality in bilateral settlements has historically been one of the most difficult hurdles for traditional financial institutions transitioning their operations onto distributed ledger technology.

Viv Diwakar, head of the Canton Foundation, elaborated on the broader strategic implications of the grant and the new standard during the announcement. By supporting open-source initiatives such as CAPS, Diwakar explained, the Foundation is actively helping to establish a shared privacy and licensing framework that safely enables multiple data providers to serve the growing network without compromising proprietary institutional information or exposing sensitive transactional parameters.

Under the operational mechanics of the newly established standard, the prominent blockchain oracle provider RedStone will publish a reliable reference price that participating entities can seamlessly leverage to calculate transaction values. The initial scope of development will primarily cover critical asset classes, focusing specifically on pricing methodologies for tokenized funds, private-market assets, and sophisticated structured products.

To ensure widespread adoption, interoperability, and continuous community improvement, the underlying pricing calculations and the accompanying licensing module will be officially released under the Apache 2.0 open-source license. This permissive licensing structure allows other independent data providers and ecosystem developers to adapt, build upon, and integrate the tools into their own proprietary systems.

RedStone is no stranger to the Canton ecosystem, having already established a proven track record within the network. According to the company, RedStone has been providing critical pricing data on Canton since December 2025 and routinely collaborates with various key ecosystem participants, including the Temple Digital Group, to ensure seamless data delivery and robust oracle performance.

This latest funding milestone arrives as the Canton Network continues to experience significant enterprise-grade adoption and scale its operational footprint. In a comprehensive blog post published in May, the Canton Network reported that it had successfully onboarded more than 600 premier institutions, a roster that notably features major global financial heavyweights such as Goldman Sachs, the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation, BNY, and Franklin Templeton. Furthermore, the network highlighted that it was actively processing approximately $9 trillion in monthly transaction volume, reflecting its position as a major infrastructure layer for institutional tokenization and privacy-enabled financial markets.
