Soneium, the premier blockchain entertainment ecosystem developed jointly by Sony Group and Startale Group, is making a major strategic push into tokenized intellectual property investments. Through a high-profile collaboration with digital asset infrastructure provider Asseto, the network is bringing eligible users unprecedented access to royalty-linked exposure sourced from a massive $549 million fund managed by global private markets investment powerhouse Partners Group.

The ambitious initiative introduces two innovative financial products, designated as ipUSD and IP Vault, directly through the Soneium Portal. These tools are meticulously designed to enable eligible participants to gain diversified exposure to a robust portfolio of intellectual property royalties. The underlying fund itself represents a formidable collection of value, comprising 53 distinct investments and more than 100,000 separate royalty streams. This extensive catalog includes high-profile exposure linked to music industry heavyweight The Weeknd’s back catalog, songs from other prominent musical artists, Discovery’s vast television library, and valuable intellectual property assets spanning the pharmaceutical sector, major global brands, and the critical energy transition space.

Scheduled to officially become available to users on October 28, 2026, the upcoming launch represents a significant, forward-looking step toward bridging the gap between traditional institutional private-market investment strategies and modern blockchain infrastructure. Historically, royalty investments—which generate steady, recurring income derived from the commercial use and licensing of intellectual property—have remained largely inaccessible to the general public, residing strictly within the domain of institutional investors, private equity firms, and specialized investment funds. By leveraging distributed ledger technology, this new ecosystem initiative aims to democratize access while maintaining the rigorous compliance and security standards expected by traditional finance.

Through the newly established IP Vault mechanism, eligible users will be able to access this unique royalty-linked exposure simply by depositing ipUSD into the vault interface on the Soneium Portal. Behind the scenes, Asseto provides the critical tokenization and digital asset infrastructure that seamlessly connects Partners Group’s sophisticated underlying investment strategy with Soneium’s scalable, high-performance blockchain ecosystem.

This collaborative rollout reflects a rapidly growing global interest in the tokenization of real-world assets, particularly financial products that have traditionally been characterized by limited accessibility, high investment minimums, and complex distribution structures. While the broader tokenization movement has increasingly focused on foundational asset classes such as government bonds, private credit, and commercial real estate, intellectual property royalties represent an entirely different category of yield-generating assets. Successfully connecting these creative and industrial assets to blockchain-based financial markets opens up entirely new avenues for liquidity and value creation.

For Soneium, the initiative also strongly supports a broader, long-term strategic vision to develop a vibrant, robust onchain economy centered squarely around intellectual property. By utilizing blockchain-based financial infrastructure, the ecosystem aims to bring together creators, rights holders, forward-thinking investors, and engaged audiences in an unprecedented alignment of economic incentives.

Expressing enthusiasm for the transformative potential of the initiative, Yuji Kumagai, Head of Soneium Protocol, emphasized the direct link between fan engagement and creator empowerment. When fans and investors actively back the intellectual property they love, that funding moves fluidly through the Soneium ecosystem and ultimately flows back to the creators and studios. This financial backing provides them with the essential freedom and security to take bolder creative risks in their future projects, knowing they have a dedicated community supporting their work from the ground up.

Partners Group, a titan in the global investment landscape that currently manages approximately $186 billion in assets across private equity, private credit, infrastructure, real estate, and royalties, is supplying the foundational investment strategy for the venture. For the firm, the partnership offers an innovative, highly efficient blockchain-enabled distribution channel to expand the reach of its established royalties program to a new segment of qualified market participants.

Highlighting the structural importance of the partnership, Vincent Ng, Managing Director and Co-Head of Asia at Partners Group, noted that tokenization represents an extremely important evolution in how investors access and navigate private markets. He added that the collaboration successfully combines institutional-grade private-market investments with advanced blockchain-enabled distribution channels tailored specifically for eligible onchain investors seeking diversified exposure.

Meanwhile, Asseto plays a pivotal operational role by bridging the gap between the traditional investment product and modern blockchain architecture. The company boasts a strong track record in the sector, having previously deployed 14 distinct real-world asset products across multiple blockchain networks, with its cumulative tokenized asset volume rapidly approaching the $500 million milestone.

According to Bridget Li, Co-founder and CEO of Asseto, the true value of tokenization extends far beyond merely representing existing physical or legal assets on a digital ledger. Instead, tokenization allows sophisticated institutional investment products to become significantly more programmable, transferable, and dynamically usable within the fast-evolving digital financial markets of the modern era.

To ensure seamless accessibility for users across its network, the new financial products will also be natively integrated into the Startale App, where ipUSD will be available right from day one of the launch. Users will have the ability to effortlessly swap between USDSC, Soneium’s native stablecoin, and ipUSD directly within the application interface, providing yet another convenient route to access the tokenized asset offerings.

Launched originally in 2025, Soneium has quickly established itself as a versatile blockchain network supporting a wide array of applications spanning music, gaming, anime, film, digital collectibles, and fan-created content. Throughout its development, the network has consistently positioned tokenized intellectual property as a central component of its long-term roadmap, actively seeking to connect the intrinsic economic value of creative works with modern blockchain-based investment and community participation opportunities.

By introducing high-caliber, royalty-linked investments backed by an exceptionally established global private markets manager, Soneium is successfully extending its core strategy far beyond digital collectibles and traditional entertainment applications, pushing directly into institutional-grade financial products. The upcoming October 2026 launch clearly illustrates how specialized blockchain networks focused on the entertainment sector are beginning to deeply intersect with the broader, accelerating tokenization wave transforming traditional investment markets worldwide.
