Kraken Prop Launches Six Major Commodity Markets Led by Gold and Cuts Non-Crypto Commissions in Half

For skilled traders who have long felt constrained by the boundaries of their personal bankrolls rather than the sharpness of their market analysis, the proprietary trading landscape is expanding in a significant direction. Beginning October 29, 2026, participants utilizing Kraken Prop can deploy their strategies across a broader horizon of asset classes. Gold has officially gone live on the platform, accompanied by five additional key commodity markets, while platform operators have simultaneously slashed commissions in half across every non-crypto market offered to traders.

The expansion marks a notable evolution for the proprietary trading platform, bringing traditional metals and energy sectors directly alongside the existing index and cryptocurrency offerings. Under the operational framework of Kraken Prop, participants act strictly by providing trade signals rather than holding real-world physical or financial positions. Stated limits within the accounts remain entirely simulated, yet the financial payouts delivered to successful participants are fully real, calculated directly from their verified simulated performance metrics.

Six Commodity Markets, Led by Gold

Among the diverse assets requested by the trading community, gold emerged as the most sought-after addition, naturally claiming the leading position in this multi-market rollout. Joining gold on the platform are silver, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) oil, Brent oil, copper, and natural gas. This curation introduces a robust blend of precious metals and vital global energy markets to Kraken Prop, broadening the daily toolkit available to signal providers.

Each of these newly introduced markets is priced dynamically off an established index oracle and operates on a continuous 24/7 trading schedule. For market participants accustomed to traditional futures proprietary firms where market access closes tightly with the standard exchange session, this continuous accessibility introduces a distinct operational flexibility. Traders are no longer forced to flatten their positions ahead of the Friday closing bell, allowing them the capacity to maintain and manage simulated positions straight through the weekend.

These newly integrated commodity markets are made immediately available across every geographic region where Kraken Prop officially provides its services, with the sole exception of the United Arab Emirates. As with the platform’s foundational structure, participants engaged in these markets submit trade signals only, maintaining no direct exposure to real positions, while operating under simulated constraints that ultimately dictate genuine performance-based financial payouts.

Leverage and Notional Caps by Market

Navigating the newly expanded asset selection requires an understanding of the specific operational boundaries established for each market. Every individual market featured on the platform operates under its own designated maximum leverage and notional cap guidelines. Within this framework, the notional cap defines the absolute largest simulated position a trader is permitted to take within that specific market, functioning as a boundary entirely separate from the overall size of the funded account itself.

For traders operating on plans other than the entry-level Lite tier, specific risk parameters govern each asset class to ensure disciplined engagement. Concurrently, traders utilizing a Lite plan find that all six newly introduced commodities are fully accessible within their existing framework at up to 20x leverage, with their pre-established commission rates carrying over completely unchanged. Platform administrators have noted that these operational limits remain under ongoing review and are subject to adjustment as market conditions evolve.

Half the Commission on Every Non-Crypto Market

In tandem with the introduction of new asset classes, Kraken Prop has implemented a substantial fee reduction designed to lower operational overhead for active traders. On all account plans outside of the Lite tier, the commission rate levied on every non-crypto market has been reduced to 2 basis points, or 2bps, per side. This represents a direct reduction from the previous rate of 4bps, effectively lowering costs to 0.02% of the notional value each time a participant opens or closes a simulated position.

To put the financial adjustment into perspective, executing a position with a notional value of $100,000 previously incurred a fee of $40 to open and another $40 to close, totaling $80 for a complete round trip. Under the revised fee structure, opening that same $100,000 position costs $20, and closing it costs $20, bringing the total round-trip cost down to $40.

This reduced commission rate applies universally across all six of the newly launched commodity markets as well as the platform’s existing index markets, specifically the S&P 500 and XYZ100. Consequently, traders who regularly focus on index markets will see their transaction costs decrease correspondingly. Notably, cryptocurrency markets are excluded from this adjustment and remain unchanged.

Importantly, this fee reduction is applied retroactively and universally across the platform. Traders who already maintain an active evaluation or a funded account will see the new rate automatically applied to their existing standing without requiring any additional purchase or administrative action.

Same Rulebook, More Markets

The introduction of a diverse array of commodity markets does not alter the fundamental operational mechanics that govern Kraken Prop. The integration of gold, silver, oil, copper, and natural gas functions seamlessly within the existing evaluation and funding framework established by the platform.

The evaluation rules enforced by Kraken Prop remain publicly published and fixed, deliberately avoiding any moving targets or shifting criteria for participants. A strict maximum drawdown limit remains in full effect to assess and regulate risk management practices throughout the evaluation and funding phases.

Get Started

With gold and five additional commodity markets now fully operational, participants ready to test their market analysis and submit trade signals can initiate a Kraken Prop evaluation. For traders who already maintain an active account on the platform, the new markets and the reduced 2-basis-point commission rate are already live and accessible.

As with all services of this nature, Kraken Prop operates as an unregulated offering. The evaluation program is intentionally rigorous, engineered specifically to thoroughly test and verify a trader’s risk-management capabilities and strategic discipline prior to the allocation of any proprietary capital by Payward Oceanic Ltd. Statistics indicate that the majority of applicants do not successfully pass the evaluation process on their initial attempt, and there exists no guarantee that an individual’s trading performance will improve over time or that they will successfully pass any future evaluations. Prospective participants are advised to purchase an evaluation only if they possess strong confidence in their trading methodology and knowingly accept the financial risk associated with failing to qualify for a funded account. Evaluation fees remain strictly non-refundable for each individual attempt once trading activities commence, regardless of the final outcome.
