Despite a noticeable downward correction in the broader cryptocurrency market over the past week, corporate treasury giant Strategy (MSTR) has continued its aggressive accumulation strategy, acquiring an additional $66 million worth of Bitcoin. The latest acquisition reinforces the firm’s status as the undisputed corporate leader in digital asset holdings, showcasing an unwavering long-term commitment to its flagship treasury asset even during periods of short-term price volatility.

According to public disclosures from the company, Strategy accumulated 811 Bitcoin at an average purchase price of $80,846 per coin. This latest transaction brings the company’s staggering cumulative holdings to an unprecedented 849,327 BTC, widening the gap between Strategy and any other corporate entity holding cryptocurrency on its balance sheet. The firm’s willingness to deploy substantial capital during a market downturn highlights its unique treasury management philosophy, which views price dips as strategic opportunities rather than deterrents.

While the company remained inactive during the preceding week—neither adding to nor selling its digital asset reserves—its recent buying habits demonstrate a consistent accumulation pattern. Across five consecutive weeks stretching from late September through October, Strategy aggressively stacked a total of 3,466 Bitcoin, representing an aggregate investment of approximately $292 million. This steady influx of capital underscores the firm’s systematic approach to building its digital treasury, methodically capitalizing on market conditions to expand its position over time.

The resumption of consistent buying follows a notably eventful summer for the company. Earlier in the year, Strategy made waves by controversially conducting its first Bitcoin sales since 2022. Those strategic liquidations were executed under the company’s newly introduced digital credit capital framework, a monetization program specifically designed to bolster Strategy’s cash reserves, enhance liquidity, and support ongoing dividend payments to shareholders. The summer sales marked a brief deviation from the firm’s historically strict accumulation-only policy, sparking considerable discussion within financial and cryptocurrency circles regarding corporate treasury management of digital assets.

In tandem with its latest cryptocurrency acquisition, Strategy chairman Michael Saylor highlighted further financial maneuvers on Monday. According to announcements shared by Saylor, the firm successfully repurchased $208 million worth of STRC, its perpetual preferred stock. The STRC instrument is structured to provide investors with an attractive 12.00% annual dividend yield. Designed with a targeted par value of around $100, STRC has recently been trading at approximately $99.28, reflecting stable market demand for the company’s preferred equity offerings as management actively balances its capital structure between debt, equity, and digital reserves.

Strategy holds a foundational place in the modern intersection of traditional finance and cryptocurrency, having made history as the first publicly traded company to adopt Bitcoin as its primary and sole treasury reserve asset. Over the years, the firm has transformed itself from a traditional enterprise software provider into a leveraged proxy for Bitcoin exposure, pioneering a corporate playbook that numerous other firms have subsequently sought to emulate. Despite the growing number of institutional adopters and corporate treasury vehicles entering the space, Strategy maintains its position as the world’s largest corporate holder of Bitcoin by an exceptionally wide margin.

At the time of writing, Bitcoin is changing hands at $76,751. The premier cryptocurrency, which continues to command the highest market capitalization in the digital asset sector, has experienced downward pressure over recent trading sessions, registering a loss of nearly 1.5 percent over the past 24 hours and a decline of nearly 4 percent over the course of the week. Nevertheless, for Strategy and its leadership team, these short-term market fluctuations appear secondary to the broader, multi-year thesis driving the company’s unprecedented accumulation campaign.
